This policy covers travelingwavedesigns.com, operated by Traveling Wave Design Co. It explains what I collect, why I collect it, who it goes to, and how to have it removed. I have written it in plain language on purpose.
What I collect
Information you give me. When you fill in a form on this site, I collect what you type into it. Depending on the form that means your name, email address, business name, quiz answers, and anything you write in a message field. The forms on this site are the Messaging Clarity Map signup, the brand quiz, the book waitlist, the contact form, and the discovery call booking page.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, this one records general technical and usage information through the analytics and advertising tools listed below. That includes pages visited, approximate location based on IP address, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site.
Why I collect it
- To send you the resource, quiz result, or reply you asked for
- To send email you have subscribed to, which you can leave at any time
- To schedule and prepare for discovery calls
- To understand which pages and channels are working, so I can improve the site
- To measure and target advertising
I do not sell your personal information, and I do not share your email address with anyone for their own marketing.
Cookies, analytics, and advertising
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand traffic and behavior in aggregate. Google may set cookies to do this. You can opt out across all sites using Google's browser add-on.
This site also uses the Meta Pixel, which reports actions taken here back to Meta so I can measure and target advertising on Facebook and Instagram. The pixel has automatic advanced matching enabled. That means when you submit a form, contact details such as your email address are converted into an irreversible hashed value in your browser before being sent to Meta, so the plain text is not transmitted. You can manage how Meta uses your data in your Facebook ad preferences.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking them will not stop you using this site.
Who else handles your information
I use a small number of outside services to run this business. Each one handles your information under its own privacy policy.
- Netlify, website hosting and form delivery
- Flodesk, email list and email delivery
- Calendly, discovery call scheduling
- Zapier, moving information between the tools above
- Stan, digital product and free resource delivery
- Google, analytics and search performance
- Meta, advertising measurement
- Microsoft 365, my email
If you subscribe, you will get the resource you asked for and follow-up email related to it. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately. You can also reply to any email and ask me to remove you, and I will.
How long I keep it
I keep subscriber information until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete it. Analytics data is retained on Google's standard schedule. Client project records are kept as long as I need them for business and tax purposes.
Your choices
You can ask me to tell you what I hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email samantha@travelingwavedesigns.com and I will handle it. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA, and I will honor those requests the same way.
Children
This site is meant for adults running businesses. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given me information, email me and I will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted on this page.
